Students at The Guernsey College of Further Education welcomed David Barker, the current Harbour Master. David spoke to the engineering students about the technical side of helicopters, and discussed his 10 years as a helicopter pilot and his path into the Royal Navy.

Rich Goodwin, pilot, spent time with year 9 Blanchlande College students explaining his journey to becoming a pilot and the engineering behind building his own jet pitts.

The annual ‘Meet the Pilots’ event, sponsored by Ravenscroft, welcomed hundreds people of all ages, allowing them to get up close with the aircraft ahead of the Air Display, and speak to the pilots and engineers

Team RaVen went to Elizabeth College and spoke to the Sixth Form students about their journey to becoming pilots, the recruitment process, and the ins and outs of aerobatic display.

The RAF Careers Engagement Team were on island all week visiting schools, air cadets and the CCF speaking to students about career opportunities in the RAF.
